Purpose
The purpose of Student Government includes (but is not limited to) the following:
- To provide official voice and action on behalf of the student body
- Ensure that students' concerns are addressed in governance and policy development of Great Basin College at all levels
- Evaluate and establish student programs , organizations, and services
- Encourage the betterment of educational standards, facilities and services

Student Government Elections: Become A Student Leader!
Any student enrolled in at least one credit at 澳门新甫京娱乐游戏在线下载 is a member of the SGA, with the rights to vote in student elections, participate in all SGA sponsored activities, and attend all open SGA meetings.
Officers of the SGA advocate for all students and provide input directly to the NSHE Board of Regents. Participating in student government is an incredible educational opportunity, and it looks wonderful on a resume. It's easy to participate. Brief information is provided below. For details, consult the SGA Constitution in Adobe PDF format.
- Any student eligible to hold office must maintain a semester grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
- To be eligible to hold the office of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, or Senator, officers must complete at least six 澳门新甫京娱乐游戏在线下载 credits or 澳门新甫京娱乐游戏在线下载-shared program credits per semester. Candidates for President or Vice President must have completed thirty (30) 澳门新甫京娱乐游戏在线下载 credit hours or previously held the position of Senator or other executive office at 澳门新甫京娱乐游戏在线下载 for the term of one term. Previous credit hours are not required for candidates of the Senator position or other executive positions.

How to be on the Ballot:
- Message james.kendall@ltdns.net with your student id and gbc email address along with position you wish to run for at which campus.
- Attend two SGA Meetings prior to elections or being sworn in.
- Have or maintain a 2.5 GPA.
